The Community Visioning phase will explore and test a range of ideas, strategies, and policies for future physical improvements to key target opportunity areas of the Village. Phase 2 will also include a Community Workshop and several Community Pop-Up Events throughout the Village.


The Village and project team will also start drafting the Comprehensive Plan during this phase. Let us know your thoughts for the future of the Village. It's possible here.


Past Community Visioning Events:

  • Pop-up Event #1 - Our team had a pop-up booth at the Public Works Open House, September 18, 2021 from 10am-2pm.
  • Pop-up Event #2 - Our team had a pop-up booth at the Fire Department Open House, September 25, 2021 from 9am-12pm.
  • Community Workshop - Our team held a workshop at The Niles Senior Center September 29, 2021 from 6-8pm to hear the communities vision for the future of Niles through a series of interactive exercises!

Help us learn more about the Village! This mapping exercise will help with visioning for Niles by locating all the wonderful things the Village has to offer, as well as areas for improvement. To help us build this map, please place pins all over the map. There are four different pins to use: Areas for New Parks / Open Space, Areas for New Housing, Areas for Streetscape / Urban Design Improvement, and Areas for Missing Pedestrian / Bicycle Connections. The map functions the same as a Google Maps so feel free to scroll around and zoom in. Please place a pin on a particular intersection, institution, landmark, park, etc., and then add comments or photos to explain to us where we are. Don't forget important information like the name, history, fun facts, size, wish list items, etc. Have fun and thank you for teaching us more about the Village! You know the Village best!
